LSU Football: Revisiting former DT Glenn Dorsey's Tigers career – LSU Wire

On Sunday, we took back at the career of one Tigers legend in Dalton Hilliard. Glenn Dorsey is another Louisiana native that played his college ball at LSU.
Dorsey was rated among the nation’s top defensive linemen and one of the top three players in Louisiana coming out of high school. According to Rivals.com, Dorsey was a four-star recruit and the No. 5 defensive tackle in 2004.
Dorsey played in 12 games as a true freshman, starting three and finishing the season with 18 tackles. In Dorsey’s sophomore season, he started three of 13 games and had 21 total tackles, four for a loss, and three sacks. Dorsey was a rotational player in 2005 but came into his own in 2006.
The defensive lineman finished his junior year with 65 tackles (8.5 for a loss) and three sacks. Dorsey made First Team All-SEC and First Team All-American. Dorsey was becoming an unstoppable force on the defensive line, which carried on to his final season at LSU.
Dorsey put it all together during his senior campaign and finished the season with 12.5 tackles for a loss and seven sacks. He also had 69 tackles, three passes defended, and a forced fumble.
He took home the SEC Defensive Player of Year award and earned First Team All-SEC and First Team All-American honors. Along with all of Dorsey’s accolades, he also helped LSU win the BCS Championship.
Dorsey finished his outstanding college career with 154 tackles. 25 for a loss and 13 sacks and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2020. After his time at LSU, Dorsey was the fifth overall pick in 2008 and played eight seasons in the NFL for the Kansas City Cheifs and San Francisco 49ers.
