A new list has revealed the most popular football teams in the UK – and it controversially doesn’t feature Manchester United.
Despite their huge fan base which spreads across the whole country, Ralf Rangnick’s side does not make the top five of the rankings by Sports Direct.
Ronaldo’s Man United don’t feature
The sports retailer has looked at teams from up and down the country and created the list based on a number of different factors, including online mentions, social following, and fan engagement.
“Sports teams are the bread and butter of the sporting world,” a Sports Direct spokesperson said.
“They matter immensely to fans and to individuals themselves, but which ones are the most loved across the UK?”
So without further ado, here’s who makes up the top five?
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are top. This could be to do with the current crop of England youngsters at the club, with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Emile Smith Rowe, and Bukayo Saka all plying their trade at the Emirates Stadium.
The current Premier League top three then follow, with Liverpool at No.2, Chelsea at No.3, and Manchester City No.4.

West Ham round off the top five, while Tottenham and Everton also miss out.
