Georgia football isn’t afraid of going into anyone’s stadium, and as we’ve seen in the past, there have been some great road wins for the Dawgs. To go into someone else’s house and get a win is such a satisfying experience. It’s such a power move, and Georgia is one of those teams capable of inflicting those blows.
In this second part of a three-part series, we look at the most epic road game victories since 2000.
Former head coach Mark Richt had some solid wins on the road during his tenure — especially early on in his career.
Current head coach Kirby Smart has turned this program into a road warrior. Most road wins have been against opponents the Dawgs demolished, or it’s at a neutral site, and we’re saving those for another article. Some of those were contenders for this list but didn’t quite make the mark.
One of the biggest things that make Georgia a solid road team is the fans. Dawg fans travel with their football team, and it doesn’t matter where it is in the country. Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Indianapolis — Georgia fans will be decked out in as much red as possible.
These five games are incredible memories after going through the last couple of decades and sifting through the road victories. One game that was close to making this list was the strip-sack, scoop, and score by David Pollack against the South Carolina Gamecocks. That play was an instant classic.
Another is the last few trips to Nashville and painting Vanderbilts’ stadium red, making a road game looks like a home one.
Those games are incredible, but we wanted the most epic road victories. Once you go through this list, you’ll understand why we went this route because Smart is quickly making this program into a force, so this list will change as it should.
Here are the five most epic Georgia football road victories since the turn of the century.
