Salah, Jota and Mane are the team’s top scorers
Jurgen Klopp is enjoying what his Liverpool side are doing this season, as the German coach has seen his side play some of the best football in the Premier League this season.
Despite having been crowned champions in 2019/20 and now sitting second behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Klopp says that this current team is the best he’s had at Anfield.
The Reds won the Carabao Cup on penalties against Chelsea last weekend, keeping their dreams of a quadruple alive this season. They’re still in the FA Cup and the Champions League, and are pushing City in the Premier League too. They also strengthened in the January transfer window by bringing in Luis Diaz.
Both the Colombian and Diogo Jota are important players already, helping Liverpool to the best attack in the Premier League with 70 goals so far and the second best in Europe’s top leagues, behind only Bayern Munich’s 75 goals.
Klopp‘s instructions are clear,” explained Trent Alexander-Arnold. “There’s a game plan and a way to carry it out. Not every game is the same, so the tactics change, but he gives us freedom to show our quality.
“We’re an attacking team that look to create chances and score goals. We want to hurt our opponents and the best way is to hit everything possible.”
Salah is the Premier League’s top goalscorer with 19 goals. Behind him is teammate Diogo Jota on 12, and then Sadio Mane with 11. Klopp has described the Egyptian as “the best in the world”.
As well, Salah‘s 10 assists are more than anybody in England, alongside Alexander-Arnold. Andy Robertson is just behind on nine.
Salah is aiming at beating Harry Kane’s record from last season, which saw him end as top scorer and top assist provider with 23 goals and 14 assists.
