Hello, and welcome to The Athletic's coverage of today's breaking news.
The FA Cup weekend action did not disappoint with non-league Boreham Wood knocking out Championship high-flyers Bournemouth. They will be rewarded with a trip to Everton in the fifth round.
There was also drama in the Africa Cup of Nations final, where Senegal triumphed on penalties after a 0-0 draw with Egypt. Sadio Mane scored the decisive spot kick having missed a penalty in normal time, while his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah did not get a chance to take one from the spot.

Everton have been unfortunate to pick up so many injuries this season already and things could get worse with Yerry Mina and Demarai Gray both substituted early in the first half due to injuries to both.
After their defeat to Newcastle, Frank Lampard said: "Yerry’s a muscle injury, his quad. Demarai was a hip. We are hoping with him it’s not too bad. It’s something that he’s had before that he got over quite quickly but, with Yerry, we’ll have to assess him over the next few days."

Kurt Zouma has been named in West Ham United's starting XI for their Premier League game against Watford this evening.
Zouma, 27, will face an internal disciplinary hearing at the club after he was filmed kicking and slapping his pet cat.
A video obtained by The Sun shows Zouma dropping the cat from chest-height, and kicking it as it lands. He then chases it around the living room, at one point throwing a pair of shoes at the cat, before slapping it in the face.

Norwich City have raised season ticket prices for the first time in 10 years, ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The cheapest adult seat at Carrow Road if renewed at the first opportunity had cost £499.50 and will now increase to £534.50, if bought before March 20.
The pricing structure will stay the same regardless whether their current Premier League survival bid proves to be successful.
Norwich have pinned the reason for the rise on the continuing hit of the coronavirus pandemic, which cost the club more than £30 million. Norwich also offered season ticket holders to option to defer their 2020-21 seat for 12 months once crowds were allowed back into games.
The club have also launched ‘City Giving;’ where supporters can commit to a monthly donation that goes to Norwich’s Community Sports Foundation.
Meanwhile, Norwich Under-23 midfielder Saxon Earley has signed a new contract with his boyhood club until the summer of 2023.

There is growing expectation that Sunderland will finalise a decision on their next manager on Wednesday. The successor to Lee Johnson could then be unveiled on Thursday before travelling to London on Friday for Saturday’s League One match at AFC Wimbledon.
Sunderland have been conducting second interviews in the past 48 hours and have again spoken to Roy Keane, Grant McCann, Alex Neil and the former Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi. There has been contact with several other possible contenders but it is not known if they have had formal second interviews.
It is thought each man has been told the offer is short-term until the end of the season. If promotion to the Championship is gained, then a new contract conversation will begin.
Keane remains the favourite because of the lift he could give to the club as well as a team that goes to Cheltenham Town tonight having lost their last two games 6-0 at Bolton and 2-1 at home to bottom-of-the-table Doncaster Rovers. The hope is that he would galvanise Wearside.
There may be questions, though, over his knowledge of League One in 2022, for example, and should he wish to bring a coach with him, if that would be a complication.
McCann’s appeal lies in his experience of taking Hull City up to the Championship last season, 12 points ahead of Sunderland, who came fourth. From the end of last February Hull went on an unbeaten 14-game run, winning 11, to secure promotion.
Neil took Norwich into the Premier League in 2015, having previously guided Hamilton to promotion in Scotland, and Lamouchi had a strong start at Forest in 2019 before fading.

The choice comes six weeks after he was left out of Morocco’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

He impressed against Brighton on debut – not the most terrifying start, considering he played in his first superclasico for Boca Juniors against River Plate aged just 17.
But Bentancur was composed on the ball, and produced one of the moments of the match when just outside his own area he nonchalantly dragged the ball back and flicked it away from Evan Ferguson. It was the kind of skill that instantly wins over a new set of supporters.
